This building has some amazing history. In 1839, the Ffestiniog Union Workhouse opened its doors to house the poor and homeless, with initial capacity for 150 people. Over the years, it underwent several expansions, including the addition of a Victorian vagrants ward with six working and living cells. The conditions were harsh, with workers forced to sleep on metal wire beds with no mattresses. The work cells were equally unforgiving, where prisoners were forced to break stones through metal grids.

One of the most well-known ghostly occurrences is the lamenting cries of a woman who was condemned to death within the lodge's walls. It is believed that she roams the corridors searching for the child she allegedly murdered. Reports of loud noises and fleeting shadows add to the eerie atmosphere.
During the investigation, you will have the opportunity to explore areas such as the servant's quarters and the cells, both of which have exhibited significant paranormal activity. Visitors have witnessed objects being inexplicably thrown from shelves and seemingly kicked around. Cold gusts of wind and unsettling sounds like growls and moans have also been reported.
